What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses light technology to prevent body hair growth. During the treatment, the hair follicle is exposed to pulses of laser light which is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The heat from the laser damages the hair follicles that produce hairs, delaying or preventing future hair growth.

What must I do before my laser hair removal appointment?
Before your procedure, you should avoid exposing the area you are treating to the sun. Sunlight can cause your skin to become more sensitive to the light energy used, putting you at risk for hyperpigmentation or even scarring or burns.
Six weeks before your treatment, you must avoid plucking, waxing or bleaching the hair. Preserving the root and pigment is important for the success of the treatment.
The night before your appointment, you will need to shave the area that will be treated. If the hair on the treatment area is too long, it could put you at risk for getting burned.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
The procedure can cause some discomfort for some clients, but it is typically pain-free. The level of discomfort is dependent on the area being treated and the pain tolerance of the individual. Areas with thinner skin tend to be more sensitive than areas with thicker skin.
How many sessions do you need for laser hair removal?
We recommend doing a series of sessions over a period of time to get the best results from your laser hair removal treatments. Each person is different, and the effectiveness of the treatment is highly dependent on your skin type and hair type. However, the average client notices results after 6 – 8 sessions.
